Role overview

The Commercial Analyst will have a deep understanding of the challenges we are addressing for our customers, their data and business processes, and our products. You have strong knowledge of the CPG/FMCG industry, and you are passionate about using data to drive insights to enhance all aspects of the commercial planning cycle. Promo Evaluation, Joint Business Planning, Trade Spend budgeting, and Store Execution are terms you are familiar with, and you understand the huge value that data, our products and your expertise can bring to our customers.

You will use this passion and understanding to support delivery, derive systemic insight and improve products to ensure customer value is delivered and successful renewals and expansions are achieved.

The CPG Senior Analyst is a core member of our Customer Success department and responsible for delivering outstanding day to day service to our clients, from ensuring that systems are up to date to presenting our clients with valuable insights they can act upon.

You will direct a team of technical analysts to ensure systems are up to date and operational, and you lead them and our customers on a journey to unlock value through ever smarter insight generation.

In this role, you’ll get to

  • Partner with the Customer and Customer Relationship Manager by being the expert on the customer’s data and the output of our products (SLA, accuracy, parameters, formatting, value)
  • Take ownership to ensure client issues are resolved quickly and the root cause is identified and managed, leading to permanent process fixes
  • Leverage knowledge of data, products, and industry experience to derive valuable insight for the customer and continuously demonstrate the value of our contracted products (and ways to improve our value from product/service enhancement)
  • Partner with the Insight Manager and Relationship Manager(s) in delivery of client requirements for proactive, tactical and ad-hoc analysis, and product/service development opportunities
  • Liaise with the Product and Engineering teams on any product changes, particularly on version release
  • Identify business development opportunities through exploration of current customer solutions
  • Deliver excellent product and vision demonstrations to both technical and non-technical audiences

We are looking for people who

  • Strong technical skillset including advanced Excel, SQL and Power BI
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a strong cross-functional collaborator
  • Is able to present effectively to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Structured and practical approach to problem solving, from issue identification, to resolution, to long term process fixes and implementation
  • 4+ years’ experience in an analytical insight role in the FMCG or CPG industry
  • Experience of using analytics and data to drive improvements, solutions, profits, efficiencies
  • University degree, preferably in a numerate subject
  • Knowledge of retail operations processes and procedures advantageous
