Management Accountant

Role overview

This role is for a proactive and experienced Management Accountant, who will report to the Finance Manager and will also work alongside with Accounts Payable, Finance Assistant, Financial Controller and CFO.

The key priority of this role is to complete the management accounts for the UK, US, Australia and Netherlands entities as well as the consolidated management accounts and reporting packs. You will also prepare the Group VAT returns and will mentor the Accounts Payable and Finance Assistant.

The successful candidate will gain exposure to improving existing processes and implementing a new ERP system, SAP Business ByDesign.

In this role, you’ll get to:

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts (UK, US, Australia and Netherlands)
  • Maintain the fixed assets registers, prepayments, accruals, inter-company and post journals
  • Oversee and own the bookkeeping process to ensure the trial balances and P&L are fully reconciled each month, including inter-company and payroll
  • Prepare quarterly Group VAT returns
  • Review and approve weekly and monthly payment runs to be processed by Accounts Payable – multiple currencies across multiple subsidiaries
  • Support the Accounts Payable and the Finance Assistant with any queries and further develop their experience as necessary
  • Significant involvement in the year-end and audit process
  • Liaising with external Accountants in Australia, America and Netherlands and HMRC
  • Identify any problems and provide solutions, and work cross-functionality to improve the efficiency of processes
  • Involvement in on-going project work within the finance team as and when required

We are looking for people who:

  • 2+ Years experience working as Management Accountant
  • Part-qualified Accountant CIMA/ACCA/ACA
  • Very good high level understanding of Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience in payroll is highly advantageous, but not essential
  • Experience implementing an ERP system (SAP Business ByDesign) is highly advantageous, but not essential
  • Knowledge of SAP, Opera and multi-currency transactions is a plus
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work closely with other departments
  • Positive attitude, flexible and team player
  • Highly driven and motivated, with an eye for continuous improvement
  • Organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Can commute to our Richmond office up to 3 days per week (when necessary)
